Step 2: Cut the tip of the cone with scissors so that the paste comes out not too thick or thin.

Step 3: Try out few shapes on waste paper with the cone.Once you feel you are ready,so are you.

Step 4: Here we started.Try out the design on your hand.

Its always the case that the first attempt might not look perfect.But always remember practice and interest would take you to heights.Try drawing on paper and then on hand.It will definitely help.Always use your imagination and creativity rather than copying designs from the beginning.Then very soon you will also become an innovative henna artist.

Tips :

If you feel you might make a mistake on trying it out on your hand,try tracing a light impression of the design on your hand before starting.

Always draw starting from wrist portion to fingers.

If you are not happy about the design it can be washed off immediately with soap and you can try on a different design as soon as you've finished applying.

How to make the henna paste

By following the steps below we can make the henna paste which is subsequently filled in a cone for ready application:

1. Make fine dust of earth green coloured henna which is available in the markets.
2. Sift the powder twice or thrice with a fine muslin cloth.
3. Take 2 tablespoons of the sifted powder in a small mixing bowl.
4. Pour 8 to 10 drops of eucalyptus oil and juice of a half lemon into the bowl.
5. If the mehendi powder is a little old, few drops of clove oil or filtered tea water can be added along.
6. Then add the needed water to bring the smooth paste to a semi liquid consistency.
7. This paste can be filled in cones and can be used after 2 hrs of preparation.
8. A mixture of lemon juice and sugar must be kept ready.With a help of cotton balls just dab on the part of henna applied.

Tips For Dark colour :

The henna applied must not be scraped before 4 to 5 hrs. By not allowing water to touch on henna for about 12 hrs from application dark colour could be obtained. After scraping henna off mustard oil can be applied for dark colour.
